Overcome that fear!!!
Fear is covertly a contributing factor of failure. It makes one forfeit awesome chances and opportunities of a lifetime. It does exceptionally well when it comes to subduing and restricting people from their passions. It is normal to be afraid but one also has to be conscious of its replications. My mother always calls fear a "thief" as she says, "fear is a thief that sponges off and feeds on your passion, taking what you deserve away from you forever at the long run, and its end product is regret and misery". I could not have agreed less to her metaphoric description of fear, as we all would possibly see eye to eye on the basis that we have all personally encountered fear in one way or the other, and know exactly how it operates.
It is very cardinal we overcome our fears by parading bravery and courage, as it yields delectable results eventually. Story time!!! Reflecting on a personal experience I had in school. I think it happened during my first year in tertiary school, when we were grouped to do a presentation in class, and that was the very first time I had to do a presentation, and like many, I was so afraid of the crowd, I mean standing in front of a class of about three hundred students and a lecturer, the fear rose to its apex when I was chosen by the group members to add up to the major presenters. OMG!!! You would be shocked if I told you I could not sleep well at night, even when it was two weeks before the day of the presentation for my group. Well, I saw how people made fun of those who were not able to present due to fear, which made me decide not to get humiliated by the entire class.
Deciding to exclude myself from embarrassment and shame, I prepared myself for the d day with thorough researches, practicing my presentation soo many times with the help of my roommate, when the day finally came, I mustered courage and headed for the podium. I delivered exceptionally that I felt I was possessed by something because every content flowed smoothly without obstruction like water. I was soo on point and got praised by the lecturer. I became recognized by my lecturer and colleagues, The joy after let's call it my "feat" was inexplicable. I was so proud of myself that I did not permit fear to get the best part of me. So my consistent preparation, determination and courage and that of my co presenters, made my group stand out and we were duly rewarded. My performance in the presentation helped me pass that course. I believe someone got inspired!..
Our fears sometimes challenge us to bring out the best in us as in my scenario, I did not want to be humiliated so I did everything possible and worked towards achieving that course which even sprung something great at the end. Find every ways and means to overcome your fears as it is so worth it. Work towards that dream, take that exam, go for that audition, write that letter, apply to that school, pound that pavement for that job, do not let fear tie you up. Fight that fear to extricate yourself!!! Never let fear be your dictator!!!. There is soo much awaiting you after you have triumphed over your fear.
you are doing great!!!
